  3. 1.  After font object is Copied to Clipboard from KF-HeadSetter, object doesn't paste...
  4.  
  5. If you used the text tool in illustrator previously and it is still active on the screen, select either selection tool and click on the screen. Now pasting should be possible.

  8. Make sure that Illustrator or Photoshop is running concurrently and you have a screen open to paste into.
  9.                         
  10. 2.   Gradients are altered when using Illustrator...Filter/Objects/Distribute Vertically or Horizontally...

  12. This sometimes affects the gradients so try to avoid using these tools with Kara Fonts. As far as we can tell, this is a bug in Illustrator.

  14. 3.   In Illustrator, after pasting a Kara Font object from the clipboard, and changing KF'Custom" color, the colors do NOT dynamically affect the Kara Font on screen and/or postscript error occurs in process of changing or after returning to screen from 'Custom Color' window.

  16. This will occur when you have objects on the screen and also objects on the clipboard that use the SAME gradients. Illustrator gets confused.

Solution: Adobe says that this is a bug in Illustrator. After you paste Kara Fonts to the Illustrator screen, either close  or open (Command + I) the 'Paint Style' window prior to adjusting the KF custom color. For some reason, the 'Paint Style' window needs to be acted upon to 'initialize' it.

  20. 4.   Illustrator Bug to Avoid

  22. Situation: Illustrator is running with NO active screen. You start KF-HeadSetter. You then activate Illustrator and open a new file. You go back to KF-HeadSetter and copy Kara Fonts to the Clipboard. You click onto the Illustrator window and ...CRASH!

  24. TO AVOID THE CRASH - Open a new Illustrator screen BEFORE COPYING TO THE CLIPBOARD FROM KF-HEADSETTER.

  28. KF-HeadSetter:

  30. 1.   After editing the Kerning Files for a font in a text program, KF-HeadSetter can,t find the Kerning File (Error 49)...

  32. Make sure to Save and Close the Kerning File in your text program after editing it BEFORE accessing it from KF-HeadSetter. (It cannot be in two places at same time.)

  34. 2.   After editing the Kerning Files for a font in a text program, YOU DON'T SEE THE CHANGES AFFECTING THE CHARACTERS...

  36. This probably means that KF-HeadSetter is already running and the same font as the kerning file that you edited is already selected. SELECT another font and then re-select the original font to reload it  and its' kerning files back into memory.
